The StorTrends 2401i is an affordable 2U, rack-mount storage appliance that offers support for both block and file data in a form factor that is perfect for departments or small offices. It merges Ethernet-based Storage Area Networks (IP SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) on a single storage platform.

Its support for iSCSI enables block applications like Microsoft® Exchange and Oracle to be deployed or stored on the same server as traditional file services. The StorTrends 2401i is designed with performance in mind, and includes features for advanced storage management such as High Availability, Advanced Snapshots, Volume Replication, Failover and much more.

The StorTrends 2401i offers twelve hot-swappable drive bays with advanced SAS and SATA support for multiple options in performance, capacity and cost, as well as highly distinguishing software features in StorTrends iTX, which comes preinstalled in each appliance. This system also offers the potential for significant capacity expansion; when used as the storage head for a chain of up to three StorTrends 3202j JBOD units, storage capacity can be scaled up further.

Each StorTrends IP SAN and NAS appliance also includes the ManageTrends™ web-based GUI, which provides discovery and management of multiple StorTrends appliances deployed across the network. ManageTrends also monitors the storage performance, capacity and storage-related events and provides a detailed analysis of the storage usage.
